Sollmann, Phillip (Efdemin) (Electronics Atelier)

Born 1974 in Kassel/Germany. Addresses in his works different levels of sound. Whether working as a composer, DJ and sound artist, he is especially interested in the nuances and the search for the unheard. He studied Electroacoustic Music in Vienna (ELAK) and lives in Berlin since 2005. Under his real name he works as an artist and composer, under the pseudonym Efdemin he has released on Dial Records three transboundary albums and performs as a techno DJ continuously clubs and festivals around the globe. In Berlin, he is a regular at Berghain, where the ballet „Mass“ was premiered with his music. He taught at the École Média Art, Chalon-sur-Saône, and the HfG Offenbach and composed music for the State Theatre Stuttgart. Sollmann was a fellow at Villa Massimo, Villa Kamogawa and Music Board Berlin, and played his music among other venues at the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, Café Oto London or Kunstverein Braunschweig.
