Fricke, Stefan (Writing Workshop)

Born in Unna/Germany, after his civil service studied musicology and German literature at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrooklyn. In 1989 he founded the PFAU Press together with Sigrid Konrad. Teaching appointments and workshops regularly lead him to various academic institutions. He is an author and editor of numerous publications on contemporary music. Since 2000 Stefan Fricke is on the board of the German delegation of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) and a member of the expert committee on New Music for the German music advisory board (Deutscher Musikrat). In 2007, he directed the editorial department of the Studio Akustische Kunst for West German Radio in Cologne. Since 2008, he is editor in chief for New Music and Sound Art at Hessian Broadcasting (hr2-kultur) in Frankfurt.


Stefan Fricke’s last appearance at the Darmstadt Summer Course was in 2014. In 2016, he will be one of the „Editors-in-Chief“ of the Writing Workshop.
