The Arditti Quartet enjoys a world-wide reputation for their spirited and technically refined interpretations of contemporary and earlier 20th century music. Several hundred string quartets and other chamber works have been written for the ensemble since its foundation by first violinist Irvine Arditti in 1974. These works have left a permanent mark on 20th century repertoire and have given the Arditti Quartet a firm place in music history. The ensemble believes that close collaboration with composers is vital to the process of interpreting modern music and therefore attempts to work with every composer it plays. The players’ commitment to educational work is indicated by their masterclasses and workshops for young performers and composers all over the world. From 1982 to 1996 the quartet’s members were resident string tutors at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music.

Always curious, Curious Chamber Players (CCP) has since its inception in 2003 explored a wide range of new music repertoire: from hard-core modernism to graphically notated chance music, from minimalism to noise music, and from electronics to improvisation. The ensemble has experimented with framing concerts and sound installations with a unique use of time and space, each different according to the venue and situation.
Experimentation is at the core of CCP's work and past projects have included bringing other art forms such as video improvisation, theatre, Tarot meditation, dance, poetry, and fragrance. Other than conventional instrumentation (flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, and cello), CCP extends its sound world through integrating everyday objects into their projects such as balloons, kitchen tools, and the infamous "beckoning cat".
CCP has performed in contemporary music festivals such as Estonian Music Days, SPOR, Ung Nordisk Musik, Sirén, and Stockholm New Music to critical acclaim, bringing their own flavour of spontaneity and identity to every project they undertake.
With Malin Bång as the resident composer and co-artistic director, CCP specializes in collaborating with composers of the younger generation throughout Scandinavia. As a result the group has formed a special place in Swedish culture which is cosmopolitan in its core membership and repertoire, but also dedicated to the development of art music in the world.

Based in Thessaloniki, the dissonArt ensemble was founded in the beginning of 2005 with the intention to disseminate the stylistic diversity of new music in Greece as well as internationally. The ensemble has already made several appearances in Greece and abroad, including festivals such as Ensembl[:E]uropa, Milano incontra la Grecia,Klangspuren-Innsbruck, 4020. mehr als Musik, Athens Festival, Onassio Cultural Centre-Athens, Guitar Plus a.o. They have also appeared in concert halls such as the Brucknerhaus (Linz), Minoritensaal (Graz), WDR3, Piccolo Teatro a.o.
They have worked closely with composers B.Furrer, G,Aperghis, A. Di Scipio.
In June 2012 their first album (dissonArt Live in Koeln) was released by WDR3 and Dissonance Records. For 2011 dissonArt was the ‘ensemble in residence’ of Thessaloniki Concert Hall.

Founded in 2007 after a project with the composer Brian Ferneyhough in Dresden the ensemble El Perro Andaluz became quickly one of germany most exciting young ensembles for contemporary music. The cultural background of its members as well as the highly acclaimed level of interpretation made this ensemble after a short time become a partner for composers such as H. Lachenmann, R. Saunders, A. Hölszky, V. Tarnopolski, H. Hellstenius, G. Katzer and others. The wish to reflect New Music’s position in society is revealed through the wide range of musical activity – going from installation, opera productions and concerts to educational projects. EPA was awarded the Kulturförderpreis of the city of Dresden in 2011. Next to its projects in Germany, it is invited this year to Spain, England, Cyprus and Austria, where it holds in this season the position of ensemble in residence of the university Mozarteum Salzburg.

Nonstandard instrumentation, fresh sounds, contemporary chamber music in a brand
new package, humoristic, interdisciplinary, performance art, searching for other ways
of presentation… Those are the basic ingredients of Besides: an ensemble of nine musicians sharing a passion for the performance of new music in its widest sense. With the tradition of written music as a starting point, an important part is always reserved for live electronics, performance and improvisation when brainstorming for new program concepts.
The individual musicians each work in very different fields of the musical spectrum:
ranging from rock to electronic music, from sound design to music theatre, composition and even festival organization. This fact, together with the uncommon
combination of harp, saxophone, drums, violin, cello, flute, e-guitar, piano and
electronics, gives Besides its unique signature sound. The creation of new repertoire
will therefore only be possible through constantly looking for cooperations with
composers, sound artists and specialized performers. From 2009 untill 2011 Besides has been coached by members of Ictus and the Spectra Ensemble within the Advanced Master in Contemporary Music program of the Ghent Conservatory. Besides receives administrative support of COHORT since January 2011.
